Well I worked in the front for about 5 hours today. managed to get the bed torn apart that I set out to do, made the area by the hose with slate pavers I had in my "left-over" pile from other projects, planted a few more plants, replanted the flower box, and moved a bit of dirt ( Read more... )

Last night was a relaxing evening with two of my kids. They took me to a Spanish restaurant in McMinnville of all places - although it is by far a more happening place than where I live. I haven't had Spanish food since I lived in CA and that was during a visit to my hometown of SF. And of course it was as wonderful as I remembered. We ate our way ( Read more... )

Got called early this morning to hear that the crew was headed out to take out the driveway. Soon three young men arrived and started in, only to find out that this 55 year old piece of concrete was not going without a fight. The jackhammer was fairly small and no match for her until they found her weak spot. Now she is almost torn up ( Read more... )

Going to the dentist wasn't bad at all, I just had a crown put in. of course he noticed my stitches from having the first of the basal cells removed and said "That's to get our sympathy...right?" I laughed and said right. At the moment I sort of look like a beginning Frankenstein's bride...but the sutures come out on Friday and I will have another ( Read more... )

I am the worst procrastinator. Great planner, poor do-er. I didn't get my extra bedroom painted for Jillian's visit, but did manage to paint the inside of the closets. I came home tonight to two large piles of gravel/rock. One the bigger shards to provide stability and the other the 1/4-round finishing sort for pathways. I decided that I wanted some sort of area for people to step onto when getting out of cars on the street ( Read more... )

Monday found me relocated some plants from the front bed by the street.Good foresight because the dump truck took the shortest path from point A to point B...across that bed.

Tuesday the soil mix was to be delivered. Should be simple...paid for it in advcance, they could dump it with ( relative )
